DEPARTURE

Group assembly at the airport. Meeting with the guide/guardian. Flight to Athens.

ATHENS

Arrival in Athens. Athens is a place everyone should visit. The ancient city and the capital of Greece is known primarily from the monuments of the ancient world preserved to this day. The tour program includes visiting the most interesting and most famous Athenian monuments. We will start from the center of this ancient city, during which we will see the Kalimarmaro Stadium, where the first modern Olympic Games took place in 1896, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Parliament with the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Athenian Triptych (Academy of Fine Arts, University of Athens, National Library). Then a guided tour of the Acropolis; on the hill, including Parthenon (temple dedicated to the goddess of wisdom Athena), Erechtheion, Temple of Nike, Propylaea( Gate ).

After descending from the Acropolis, a walk along the Greek Agora, Roman Agora to the oldest district of Athens named Plaka. Transfer to the hotel, an overnight stay.

SANTORINI ISLAND

After breakfast, transfer to the airport, and from there we go to the island of Santorini. Arrival on the island, transfer to Thira, the capital of the island. Then to Imerovigli, a walk through the two most beautiful places in Santorini with views of the Santorini Caldera, which is one of the largest in the world – its diameter is 10 km and the depth is about 350 m. For years, this place has been attracting painters, photographers and tourists who are passionate about beauty. After the tour, transfer to the hotel and overnight stay.

ISLAND NEA KAMENI / PALEA KAMENI - ISLAND THIRASSIA

Today we propose to relax in fabulous Santorini. For volunteers, a day trip – a cruise to the volcanic island of Nea Kameni (cost approx. EUR70). It is a small, uninhabited island located in the bay of Santorini. We will take a walk to the crater of a still an active volcano. Further cruise to another volcanic island of Palea Kameni.

Here it will be possible to take a bath in the healing sulfate waters. At last the island of Thirassi, which is laid in the Cyclades archipelago, with a population of about 260 inhabitants. After a short walk, a cruise back to the hotel, transfer to the airport and flight to Athens. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

DELPHI – KALAMBAKA

Departure towards Delphi, which used to be called the center of the earth. Here the oracle decided about the fate of the contemporary world. At the archaeological site, the remains of: the Temple of Apollo, the Treasury of the Athenians, the theater, the stadium. Transfer to Kalambaka. Visit to the factory of Byzantine icons as well as a visit to one of the 6 available monasteries.

Meteora is not only a geological phenomenon, but above all a monastery complex and the second largest center of monasticism in Greece. It is undoubtedly one of the greatest tourist attractions that has fascinated people from all over the world for centuries. Spectacular buildings erected on seemingly inaccessible rock formations, reaching up to 600 m above sea level, are an amazing sight. The monasteries were built in the 14th century, and since 1988 they have been on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Meteora is considered one of the most impressive places in the world and one of the most impressive and breathtaking examples of Orthodox church architecture. Transfer to the Olympic Riviera to Paralia and an overnight stay.

PARALIA

Today awaits for us a time to relax and rest. Paralia is a small tourist town. A beautiful town which was still a fishing village in the early 1980s. Today’s Paralia is a holiday resort. There are no industries and housing estates here. There are only numerous hotels and guesthouses, shops, restaurants, discos and beautiful golden beaches. Exceptionally clean and eternally warm sea invites you to swim, enjoy water frenzy and water sports like windsurfing, jet skiing and parachuting.

OLYMPUS

A trip to the mythical seat of Zeus – Olympus, is the perfect choice for lovers of beautiful landscapes of Greek mythology. We will start our journey with a visit to the mountain town of Litochoro, located at the foot of Olympus, from where we will go for a walk through the Enipeas Gorge. This place captivates with the richness of fauna and flora as well as the crystal clear water of the river located there. The trail will lead us to a phenomenal waterfall and Aphrodite’s bathtubs, in which, according to mythology, the most beautiful goddess used to bathe. The last point of the trip will be the picturesque village of Old Panteleimon, enchanting with its climate, stone buildings and mountain landscape. Return to Paralia in the afternoon.

PARALIA – THESSALONIKI

Free time to relax in the morning and a trip to Thessaloniki in the afternoon. The capital of Macedonia delights at any time of the day or night, but it is after sunset that it looks exceptionally beautiful and begins to pulsate with life. We will visit many wonderful monuments here, such as: the White Tower, the monument to Alexander the Great, the church of St. Demerius, defensive walls in the Upper City, from where there is a beautiful panorama of the Thermaic Gulf and the city, the Triumphal Arch of Emperor Galerius and Aristotle Square, where there will be free time. Return to Paralia in the late evening.

PARALIA

Today is yet another day for resting and enjoying the charms of Paralia.

CRUISE TO THE ISLAND OF SKIATHOS

We leave the hotel early in the morning to go to the port from where we will sail on a cruise to the island of Skiathos. There will be great fun on the ship, Captain Kostas and his crew will make sure of your good mood. The island captivates with lush vegetation, mainly pine trees and numerous beaches. During the cruise, the ship moors in two ports: in the capital of the island in Skiathos and on Kukunaries beach. The city of Skiathos is very charming, and the most beautiful view extends from the viewpoint to which we will go.

The program of the trip also includes sunbathing and swimming in crystal clear water on the golden beach of Kukunaries, surrounded by a dense pine forest. After returning, drive to Kamena Vourla and an overnight stay.
